Author Guidelines

We invite submission of papers reporting original academic or industrial research in the area of Advanced Learning Technologies and Technology-enhanced Learning. All papers will be double-blindly peer-reviewed. Complete papers are required to be reviewed. Abstracts or incomplete papers are not included to the review process.

Preparing Your Manuscript

The ICALT 2017 Conference will be divided in tracks, as presented here.

The anticipated types of submissions for all Tracks are:

  • Full paper: 5 pages
  • Short paper: 3 pages
  • Posters: 2 pages

Regarding the Doctoral Consortiumthe anticipated type of submission is:

  • Doctoral Consortium paper: 3 pages

Important Note: These page limits include authors’ information, abstract (no more than 200 words), all tables, figures, references, etc.

Important Note: Authors’ information should be included ONLY in the camera-ready version of the manuscript and NOT in the initial version. However, during the preparation of the initial manuscript, authors’ should leave a number of empty lines at the beginning of the manuscript, so as to include authors’ information during the camera-ready manuscript submission

Authors are required to follow the IEEE Formatting Template that can be found here: Doc and PDF.

The authors of accepted papers will be required to complete a copyright form at the time of camera-ready manuscript submission.
All submissions will be reviewed on the basis of relevance, originality, research significance, technical quality, organization and readability.
Manuscripts should be submitted in Word or RTF file formats. In case, authors are using Latex, PDF files are acceptable if they are formatted based on the IEEE Formatting Template that can be found here: Doc and PDF.

Camera-Ready Manuscript Preparation and Submission

The ICALT 2017 proceedings are published by the IEEE Computer Society Publications and indexed in IEEEXplore. The Conference Proceedings will be proposed for indexing in ISI Web of Science.

Authors of the best papers, selected from all the tracks by the Track Program Chairs will be invited to submit extended versions of their conference papers to the International Journal of Distance Education Technologies (indexed by EI and Web of Science’s ESCI, no publication fee if authors choose to publish in the traditional model).
The following page limits must be observed while preparing the camera-ready manuscripts.

The anticipated types of submissions for all Tracks are:

  • Full paper: 5 pages
  • Short paper: 3 pages
  • Posters: 2 pages

Paper presentation guidelines

Full paper has 20 minutes and short paper has 15 minutes for the presentation (the time includes Q&A).

AV, laptop equipment provided. Please bring your presentation on a USB in a standard format (PDF, PPT, PPTX, DOC, HTML).

All presenters should be in the room 10 minutes before the session starts.

Poster session guidelines

Available area:

  • 1000 x 1060 mm (39 x 41″)

Printed poster format:

  • smaller or equal to standard A1 format (A0 is too large); or custom size, within limits

Poster should include:

  • paper title and authors at the top of the poster
  • a brief introduction, goals, experimental detail, conclusions, and references (make sure this information is presented in a logical and clear sequence)
  • explanations for graphs, pictures, and tables

Suggested font sizes:

  • 72 pts. for title
  • 36 pts. for authors
  • 20 pts. double-spaced text
  • recommended reading distance: min. 2-3 m (6-10 ft.)

Poster session:

  • presenter is required to stand by the poster during the scheduled poster session to answer questions from attendees
  • presenters must remove their posters immediately after the poster session
  • posters not removed will be considered unwanted and will be discarded
